If you happen to miss any spots during a brushing session, the Philips Sonicare app tracks your coverage and gives you the opportunity to go back for a second pass. TouchUp provides customized guidance based on your personal brushing data so you can immediately address any missed areas and achieve a more complete clean.
Another toothbrush cleaner with elite cleaning power, this portable sterilizer was designed for universal fit – accommodating all manual and most electric toothbrushes. It seamlessly kills up to 99.9% of bacteria. An automatic timer also helps to save battery life with a 5-minute shutoff timer so to never over-sanitize and wear down bristles.
However, with a generous four brush heads included, all for different types of cleaning and whitening, multiple cleaning modes including a tongue cleaner and generally excellent performance, you can safely ignore the ‘smart’ stuff and still have a superb oral experience.
A: Each Oral-B electric toothbrush head focuses on a slightly different type of cleaning. The Dual Clean features one brush head that rotates and another that moves side-to-side. Sensitive offers gentle, yet effective, cleaning. ProWhite features a dentist-inspired polishing cup to remove surface stains. The Floss Action brush head has MicroPulse bristles that penetrate deep between teeth to sweep away plaque for a floss-like clean (does not replace flossing). Deep Sweep bristles sweep side to side to power away plaque and allows you to brush as you would with a manual toothbrush. Precision Clean is specially designed for precision cleaning and more plaque removal along the gumline than a regular manual toothbrush. Power Tip cleans between teeth, as well as around bridges, crowns and implants. Ortho is designed to safely clean around braces.

I am not a focused person, so using a manual brush I only ever gave my teeth a quick brush for maybe thirty seconds before calling it a day. The timer on this guy, though, makes sure that I brush my teeth for the recommended three minutes time instead of slacking off like I’d done before. The bristles themselves are soft, too, which doesn’t irritate my gums. I can run the brush over where my gums are the worst with some bleeding but no pain, which is AWESOME since those gums need the brushing the most. After my first brush trying this when it arrived, I couldn’t remember the last time my teeth felt so smooth and clean. Seriously, if you hate brushing your teeth but REALLY need to, you need this product!

For other oral diseases, which could be identified and treated during routine check-ups, the delay in access means that when many patients are finally able to visit their local dentist, it is often too late and only one option remains: tooth extraction. This can become up to 90% of dental work in countries such as Tanzania, where the lack of access to qualified oral health care is a prominent issue.

An excellent electric toothbrush that justifies its premium price thanks to the quality of its cleaning and the elegance of its design. At least part of the reason for that is that it’s frequently on offer at half its RRP; never pay full price for it!
Like with all new technology, you can expect to pay for the privilege of being amongst the first to use it. Foreo Toothbrushes are far from a bargain, priced higher than the top Oral-B or Philips Sonicare models.
Remove the tooth stain and dental plaque, whiten your teeth and alleviate gums bleeding. Brush head replaceable, low-carbon and healthy. 2 x brush head. Bristle material: High-grade fiber. Anti-slip curvy handle design, comfortable to hold it in hand.

A helpful on-handle timer buzzes every 30 seconds to let you know when it’s time to focus on brushing the next quadrant of your mouth. The electric toothbrush also alerts you when you have brushed for the dentist-recommended time of 2 minutes.
FlexCare Platinum Connected takes the guesswork out of oral care. Sensors send your brushing data to the Sonicare app via Bluetooth® wireless technology, providing you personalized coaching and feedback for the most complete clean possible. See all benefits
Sealants are a special thin coating that is painted over a tooth in order to protect the tooth from decay. The sealant bonds to the crevices in the tooth, protecting it from food debris. Sealants are often done to decrease the chances of requiring fillings later in life.
This is a pretty cool feature. A pressure sensor is meant to remind us that we should not press too hard when we brush. Often times over-brushing can be rough on the gum and cause them to bleed. The pressure sensor makes an alarming sound when it senses that too much pressure is being employed. In some cases, the warning can take the form of a flash. It depends on the model and makes of the toothbrush.
And the reason for this is that the toothbrush is identical to the Oral-B Pro 5000 with the exception of an added brushing mode (tongue clean, and it’s useless) as well as a fancy travel case (not as good as the DiamondClean) and storage bag (also useless).
Don’t skimp. Break off about 18 inches (46 centimeters) of dental floss. Wind most of the floss around the middle finger on one hand, and the rest around the middle finger on the other hand. Grip the floss tightly between your thumbs and forefingers.
Broke after about 11 months – started making a loud “something is broken” sound. Like metal vibrating against plastic – 10 fold louder than the new toothbrush. Cleaned it and changed heads – no luck. Worked very well for 11 months – I can’t pay $20 per month to brush my teeth (plus cost of paste, water). Bummed
The Quip is pretty much what I’d expect from an electric toothbrush: two minutes of brushing, with a ping every 30 seconds to let you know to move the brush to a different part of your mouth. That’s not special; every electric toothbrush I’ve ever had does this.
“The fear is that everything’s going to get worse,” said Loren Feldner, an Orland Park dentist and chair of the government affairs and access to care committee at the Chicago Dental Society. “Dental services are something it’s easy for legislators to overlook.”

Try these Oral-B Floss Action Replacement heads. I’ve used them for the last three years, no less than three times a day. During my last two routine dental appointments, the hygienist did very little scraping and couldn’t stop praising me for keeping my teeth so clean. The time in the chair was minimal and greatly appreciated, because I generally don’t like having my teeth cleaned. Its pure torture when they have you pinned to a chair with your mouth wide open, and then want to carry on a conversation with you.
IHS establishes and promotes initiatives on oral health literacy and the integration of oral health into primary care. Some factors may mediate whether or not the experience of stress currently translates into more chronic stress over time (manifestations), including whether or not they perceive certain stressors as threatening, and if so, manageable given resources at hand [19]. Then, where perceived current stress occurs, the coping behaviours used to deal with stressors mediate whether chronic stress manifests and harms oral health and general well-being in two main ways. First, if stressors associated with perceived current stress are not coped with in an effective manner, then chronic stress is more likely to occur. Allostatic load, a cumulative physiological impact of chronic stress, has been associated with periodontal disease [20], and some evidence indicates that this occurs due to increased inflammation [21]. However, the precise causal mechanisms remain somewhat unclear [22]. Second, regardless of how effective coping behaviours are, they may manifest as habits that are either healthy (e.g., exercise and relaxation, problem solving) or unhealthy (e.g., tobacco, alcohol and other drug use, poor oral maintenance) with respect to oral disease.

One huge advantage of electric toothbrushes is that they are quite fun to use. After all, they are technological gadgets that have timers, flashing lights, they vibrate and therefore bring more joy to the process of teeth cleaning. Also, they are undoubtedly more effective and efficient in cleaning plaque than manual toothbrushes. But, this is not the question at hand.
One unit can be used by everyone as the product offers 10 brush heads in different colors for easier identification. Brush heads are easy to remove after use to allow the next person to use the main unit.
The variety and diversity of rechargeable toothbrushes on the market can be overwhelmingly annoying. Especially, when you have decided to buy and use one. Besides the numerous differences in design, color and battery life, motor-powered toothbrushes also differ in the manner in which they clean teeth. In fact, there are five different ways to choose from.
The trend worldwide is for individuals to live longer and retain more of their natural teeth; as a result, there are more older adults with more complex dental needs. Access to dental care for homebound elderly and nursing home residents can be problematic, even in countries with national healthcare systems. Developed countries with national health systems that include dental care have seen increased costs as their population ages. As oral health costs have increased for aging populations, some governments have examined new ways of preventing oral diseases, particularly root caries.
The Vermont Oral Health Care for All Coalition’s mission is to build a statewide consumer voice for oral health care and raise public awareness of the need for greater access to affordable dental care. It is made up of organizations including consumer groups, children’s advocates, health providers, organized labor, senior advocates, health clinics and other organizations who work with Vermonters suffering from the lack of access to affordable dental care.
The California Oral Health Program (OHP) was established in July 2014.  Prior to 2014, the OHP was known as the Oral Health Unit and the Office of Oral Health. The program’s mission is to improve the oral health of all Californians through prevention, education, and organized community efforts.  To achieve these goals, the OHP is providing strategic advice and leadership to oral health stakeholders throughout the state, building oral health workforce capacity and infrastructure, and implementing and evaluating evidence-based best practices in oral disease prevention. Initial steps to build capacity and address the burden of oral disease are to develop a State Burden Report (PDF), a California Oral Health Plan (PDF), and an oral health surveillance plan.  The state plan serves as a roadmap to identify priorities, short term, intermediate, and long term goals and objectives along with recommendations to address the burden of disease, increase access to oral health services for high risk populations, and to increase the oral health status of all Californians.

The first thing you notice is the removable brush. This is the bit that does all the hard work. It has a semi-rotating head at the top so, as the mechanism inside the brush handle rotates back and forth the brush turns from side to side. Directly underneath the brush there’s a cam and gear unit, which looks like this (left photo):
USB-C instead of micro-USB! We got this request really often, and we too think that this is a great way to build Amabrush with top-notch technology right from the beginning. Many of you demanded such an upgrade, and your request is our command!
There are many manual toothbrushes that have a flexible handle, which can help decrease injury to the gums that is caused from forceful brushing. There are also handles designed to mimic a dental cleaning instrument, which makes it easy to reach areas that can be difficult to brush.

  1. The main reason I wanted to write a review for this toothbrush, though, is this. In the question and answer section on the product page here, someone mentioned that it’s important for a parent to help kids brush with this toothbrush, since it is possible to cause serious gum damage with the brush if you aren’t careful. I wish someone had told ME that before I started using my Sonicare brush a few years ago. After unintentionally pressing too hard while using this brush, I have serious gum recession–to the point that I’ve had several dentists tell me that I’ll probably need to get a tissue transplant in one area. (Ugh, not looking forward to that…)
The consultation reinforced the importance of the contribution which PCDs and support staff make to the delivery of services, and a wish to see that more clearly recognised and rewarded. To ensure an appropriate balance within the dental workforce:

  2. I’ve been seeing Dr. King and his staff since 2011 and they have been nothing short of wonderful! Dr. King always greets you with a smile and a hug! He did my adult braces as well as a crown and a veneer. I go there for all my regular cleanings and trust them wholeheartedly!
Whomever said you can’t gain modern brushing perks with a cost-friendly toothbrush suffers from yuck mouth. The Black Pro 1000 supersedes expectations with a nice set of features that get the most out of your brushing experience. Its CrossAction bristles are powerful enough to remove up to 300% plaque than any manual brush. A pressure sensor aids with over-brushing to prevent sensitivity and receding gums. The best electric toothbrushes support reminders that pause every thirty seconds to inform you when switch sides for maximizing brushing results, and lucky for you that’s present here.
How To Use Your electric toothbrush? Wet the brush head and apply toothpaste. Place the toothbrush in the mouth and turn on. Guide the brush head slowly from tooth to tooth. Hold the toothbrush head in place for a few seconds before moving on to the next tooth. Brush the gums as well as the teeth, first the outsides, then the insides, finally the chewing surfaces. Oral-B offers a variety of toothbrush heads to fit your personal oral health needs.
If poor oral hygiene is left unaddressed, you may develop oral infections like thrush. These infections occur most often in children, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems. Thrush manifests as white, raised lesions on the soft tissues in the mouth.

  3. Obesity is a serious public health challenge because obesity is a risk factor for many diseases, particularly type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Conversely, successful weight loss is associated with important health benefits. Oral health providers are experienced in delivering nutrition and carbohydrate intake messages. With appropriate training, they can actively participate in programs aimed at weight reduction.[27]
And if your session history is useless, what’s the point of the app in the first place? It’s busy with features, sure, but it’s almost as if these are planted to conceal the fact it doesn’t really do anything. I’d imagine you don’t actually need a phone to remind you to brush at least twice a day, or tell you what dark corners of your mouth need extra scrubbing, or keep a record of what dentist you’re registered with, et cetera. And since you set the app up manually, all it’s doing is regurgitating information you provided in the first place.
    2. This 7000 series has an inferior battery. NiMH batteries die much quicker than Li-ion batteries. This is one of the reasons why your cell phones have the latter. The 5000 series (my brush) used to have Li-ion battery, but it looks like Oral-B (P&G) changed all their brushes to NiMH to save some $ and offer you a more expensive brush at the same time.
