New Sonicare Powerup Brush Heads |

The 7000 comes with a lot of different modes and different heads, and it gets a little confusing as to which head to use with which mode. You can damage your teeth if you don’t know what you’re doing. For example, I think Deep Clean with a non-sensitive bristles head could be too much.
There is a vast demand of the dental materials among the medical products from the past decade. The analytical data and results of these products during their post-market research can be recorded as articles in Oral Health & Dental management.
It’s equipped with a KidTimer that’s designed to get your kid accustomed to brushing for the 2 minutes, as recommended by dentists. Over 90 days it gradually increases the time of brushing until it reaches 2 minutes.
Oral health can be both a benchmark for, and a determinant of, the quality of life. Currently, for example, people in the United States who are 85 years old can expect to have at least another 5 years of life, but more important than the length of life span will be the quality of life that can be afforded to individuals in those later years. In the United States over the past 20 years, the oral health of older adults has improved considerably, from that of a generation that was predominantly edentulous to one in which each individual in that age group has an average of 20 teeth.

We have bought two and they lasted less than a year. Customer service was no help and it is a shame because this is the best toothbrush and I have recommended it to many. They should honor their product.
Latest electric toothbrushes product

Bought these refills head for my Oral-b Pro 7000 series electric toothbrush. Previously, I was using Oral-B Cross Action Brush Head. I’ve been using this for a week and it’s great. Teeth feels clean after every brush. I couldn’t go back to traditional brush! I was a bit concern about getting fakes, but this is sold directly from Amazon. I checked the head and packaging but couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary to tell me it may be fake. So far I’m happy and my teeth are happy with this purchase. Life expectancy at birth—an often-used and reliable measure of population health—is the average number of years a group of people born in a given year are expected to live if mortality at each age were to remain constant in the future (WHO, 2010). Poverty has a major impact on global trends in life expectancy at birth. Life expectancy is higher among high-income countries than in most countries with low- and middle-income economies (World Bank, 2007). Although average global life expectancy at birth has risen considerably, from 46 years in 1950 to 67 years in 2006, some parts of the world, including sub-Saharan Africa, have actually seen a decline (Burke and Marlin, 2008). Some of these inequalities are quite striking: Life expectancy at birth in high-income countries is nearly twice that of the poorest nations. Viewed from this perspective, interventions to reduce oral health inequalities have the best chance of success when linked with efforts to improve life expectancy and overall health through prevention of diseases and disability, improving access to safe water, sanitation, adequate nutrition, and health care.
While serious in itself, the trouble of periodontal disease doesn’t stop at the gum line. Researchers have observed that people with poor oral health have other medical problems.17 Scientists know that periodontal disease contributes to pathologic inflammatory processes throughout the body. Since chronic inflammation has been linked with a host of problems including cancer and heart disease, it is easy to see the connection between periodontal inflammation and the chronic diseases of aging.3,14,18,19
Cost keeps many people away from the dentist, especially older adults. The problem: Avoiding preventive dental care will only lead to more extensive and expensive procedures later on. Furthermore, the severity of gum disease increases with age. As many as 23 percent of adults between the ages of 65 and 74 have severe gum disease, while people of all ages at the lowest socioeconomic level have the most severe gum disease, putting low-income seniors at risk, according to the CDC.

Evidence shows that there may be differences in the quantity and nature of service providers when these are classified by race/color groups [46]. These racial inequalities have also been previously identified in oral healthcare services. The use of public healthcare services was different among dark-skinned blacks (56.8%), light-skinned blacks (53.3%), and whites (41.6%) [47], as was also verified in the present study. In the United States, results have also shown that the dark-skinned black population more commonly seeks out public healthcare services, while the white population more often uses private healthcare services, data which has remained unchanged over time [48, 49]. The determining social factors can explain part of the worse access to and lesser use of oral healthcare services by the dark-skinned black population in general. The race may be considered a limiting factor for the use of oral healthcare services for the elderly as well, given that for dark-skinned black elderly people, the chance of never having gone to the dentist is more than twice that for the white population, and even if needing a prosthesis or if presenting pain, the difficulty in using public healthcare services does not diminish [50]. The Brazilian Unified Health System, in line with governmental initiatives to reduce social exclusion, has been playing its role to care for those who most need public healthcare services, thus justifying the principle of equality. Historically and most often poor, dark-skinned black populations [51] in the Brazilian reality tend to use public healthcare services more often.
At first glance it may not be obvious, but brush heads lose stiffness and gradually wear down over months of normal use. Our blue reminder bristles fade to white and help you recognize when it’s time for a replacement. For optimal results, replace your brush head every three months.
Lastly, we read a lot of articles from the American Dental Association and other independent oral health organizations, such as the Cochrane Collaboration. This helped us trim down our initial list of 107 electric toothbrushes and 38 manufacturers, down to 52 models from 16 different brands. Out of that number, we were able to pick 7.

I have to say that this is an incredible electric tooth brush. I love the fact that it comes with two heads, flossers, a tongue scraper, etc! Not only do you receive all of that, but the product itself keeps my teeth and gums feeling super clean and smooth. When you use all of the products, you will feel as if you just walked out of the dentist’s office with the cleanest teeth and freshest breath!!
Although the expectations for what older individuals want and can afford in dental care can and do vary widely, there are also commonalties. Many health problems—both oral and systemic—are more likely to occur in this population. How are these problems recognized and diagnosed? How are they managed? What are the specific dental treatment needs of the elderly, and how is dental treatment planning shaped by the characteristics of aging? These questions are the focus of this chapter.
So that you can have fewer dental and health problems, you and the dental professionals can create a unique program of home care, products, (like which toothbrush to use), and dental services that address your particular risk factors.
The story of driving hours to get your child into a dentist is not unique to Minnesota. Dental therapists will expand access for the roughly 40% of publicly insured kids in VT who didn’t see a dentist last year.
As brushing becomes a routine habit, one of simple muscle memory, we tend to multitask while brushing; i.e. checking our email on a smartphone or performing a chore outside of the bathroom. The automation of an electric toothbrush can help us in this case. However, the bells and whistles of an electric toothbrush such as bluetooth connectivity, or various settings such as “whitening” or “sensitive” ultimately distract from proper habits and technique. Ultimately an electric toothbrush should lead to better oral health with less effort and vibratory and oscillatory movement on your part.
No action should be taken solely on the contents of this program. Always consult your dentist or qualified oral health professional on any matters regarding your health or on any opinions expressed in this program.
How useful these features are, entirely depends on what you want from your toothbrush. But if all you want is to experience the best clean that Sonicare has to offer then you will be just fine with the entry-level model.
As the son of a dentist (sounds bad, doesn’t it!) I can attest to people not brushing enough… I saw this many times, self-reported from patients. The timer helps, but I don’t believe that this is the only factor.
The cam and gear unit is the clever part of an electric toothbrush. It converts the high-speed rotary (spinning) motion of the brush’s electric motor into reciprocating (back-and-forth) brushing motion that cleans your teeth more effectively. The cam and gear works a bit like this very simplified animation (right). The red motor is always rotating in the same direction at high speed, but the blue and black cam and crank convert that rotation into lower-speed, back-and-forth vibration. So, as the blue cam turns, the black crank pulls first one way and then the other, moving the brush head rapidly from side to side.
Thumbs down for electric toothbrush: BBC News, 21 January 2003. Dental researchers find that electric toothbrushes are generally no better than manual ones, though rotating-oscillating brushes seem to work best.
Most importantly, we must ensure that health and education partners work together with young people to raise awareness of good oral health and that they are fully informed of the impact of smoking and alcohol on oral health, particularly in relation to oral cancer.
Ultimately a TriZone series brush comes only with a TriZone brush head whereas a Pro series brush will normally come with any brush head other than a TriZone. The motion of the TriZone brush head is different to the other Pro series brush heads. TriZone is more like a traditional manual brush compared to the more advanced and arguably better oscillating rotating brush head.
Rinse the toothbrush completely. After an hour has passed, remove your toothbrush head from the bleach and water solution. Rinse the toothbrush completely under running water. Make sure you get out any traces of bleach as it is not safe to use a toothbrush with bleach residue stuck on.[4]
This is the first time I buy these and its not my last. I’ve been nervous because there are so expensive everywhere else but I toke a chance and order these wow!! what a great product. Thank you for all the reviews in the past and I will continue to buy!
Some brands even go as far as installing Bluetooth connectivity to your brush which allows you to track your brushing habits through an app. It may not be encouraging for adults but it’s a great way to help children get used to brushing their teeth.
