The biggest problem with the Essence is that you’re severely limited on the style of replacement brush heads. And for that reason the Essence+, while newer and less tested but seemingly the same mechanism, to us seems to make the better choice.
As compared to just the regular Essence, you get the advantage of using the more convenient, wider selection and easier to clean around click-on brush heads. Each of these factors might be an advantage for a family trying to share the same brush.
Hello everyone, i am a junior in highschool and i have been interested in becoming a dental hygienist for a while now, i’ve been debating being a flight attendant or a dental hygenist. but reading these negative comments are making me wonder if i should re-evaluate my decision! i have always enjoyed going to the dentist as a child. flying in airplanes for a career and not coming home at the end of every day just doesn’t fit me! i’m more interested in an easy going job that won’t put me completely on my a** at the end of the day with enough cash to support myself. as a little girl i’ve dreamed of having a career such as this, and i don’t like hearing it can be a huge mistake! if somebody could tell me what schooling i must go through, and if being a dental hygenist is a good choice for a girl like me.
When looking at the rankings above, it stood out to us that there seemed to be an awfully large jump in claimed efficiency between the comparatively higher and lower ranked brush heads (a factor of over 5 times, top to bottom).
Otherwise, you’re basically saying, “this one works better for me, for the things that I like,” i.e. it makes your mouth feel cleaner (to which I will add that you’ve provided no evidence other than “it feels cleaner to me”). That is great for you if that’s what you care most about. I think most people would prefer the brush with clinical evidence backing it up.

At any rate, after reading someone else’s review that made the claim that this replacement head would fit the older base, I decided to give them a try and found that the reviewer was right. It was such a relief, because I love my Sonicare, and those old-style replacement heads were becoming difficult to find; and when I did find them, they were outlandishly priced.
